Key concepts: D-Day notation
If target and start dates are the same, it is D-Day. If the target is in the future, it is D−n; if it has already passed, D+n. Only calendar dates are used—hours and minutes are not included. Weekdays and public holidays are not subtracted, so check a work calendar for business deadlines.
Example
Set an exam, trip, enlistment, or anniversary as the target and see how many days remain from today. Changing the start date also lets you back-calculate “how many days it was from that date.”

Frequently asked questions
Does the D-Day calculator include today?
The same day is 0 days (D-Day). That can differ from counting methods that include the starting day.
Are hours included?
Only dates are calculated. Hours and minutes are not applied.
Can I use a past anniversary?
Yes. Days already passed show as D+n.
What if I change the start date?
You can compute D-Day from a reference date other than today.
