How to use
- Upload an image. The file does not leave the device.
- Under effect, choose grayscale or sepia.
- Press Apply and check the canvas preview. It is applied to all pixels at once.
- Save with Download PNG. Alpha on a transparent PNG is kept.
- To change the effect, pick a mode and press Apply again, or Reset and re-select the original.
Key concepts
Image grayscale/sepia turns portraits and landscapes into weighted-average gray or sepia brown. Fixed coefficients are multiplied on pixel RGB; there is no intensity slider. Partial masking (only some areas grayscale) is not supported. It is an effect tool that applies grayscale or sepia to all pixels and returns a PNG.
Output is PNG. The original is not overwritten; you download a new file. There is no upload—everything is a local canvas. Transparent PNGs keep alpha. Intensity is a fixed coefficient, so there is no slider.
Example
Upload a color photo and apply grayscale for a black-and-white PNG with only contrast left. Switch to sepia for a brown, vintage-print look. A transparent PNG logo keeps its alpha while only gray or sepia is applied. After download, the original is unchanged. A sepia landscape saves as a brown-tone PNG. The original file is not overwritten.

Frequently asked questions
Can I leave only part of a photo in grayscale?
It applies to the whole image. To leave only the background grayscale, you need a layer editor.
Can I adjust sepia or gray intensity?
Coefficients are fixed. There is no slider and no option to weaken sepia.
Does transparent PNG alpha disappear?
The alpha channel is kept. Holes in a sticker PNG stay holes.
How do I revert to the original after applying an effect?
Re-select the original or reset and upload again. Applying another effect recomputes from the logic, not necessarily the last canvas. Re-selecting the original is surest. After changing the effect, press Apply again.
Is the grayscale file uploaded to a server?
No. The file does not leave the device. There is no server upload.
Can I stack grayscale and sepia?
One effect at a time. Pressing another effect on an already-applied canvas recomputes from that effect. Choose only one mode at a time.
