How to use
- Enter an amount in number (KRW). The default example is 123456789. Commas are allowed; only digits are read.
- Press Convert to see the Korean wording, with 원 (won) at the end.
- Use Copy to paste into a contract or email draft. Spacing can differ from a check-form fill-in.
- Decimal points are not handled. Amounts below 1 KRW are dropped. 0 becomes 영원 (zero won).
- Simple support goes up to 경 (10^16). Larger values may be truncated. Processing is local.
Key concepts
Number to Korean amount turns an integer KRW value into native Korean numerals (일, 십, 백, 천, 만, 억, 조, 경) for contracts and transfer memos. A 1 in the tens, hundreds, or thousands place is shortened (십, not 일십). It is a draft helper; check-form spacing and check characters can differ. Fractional won is dropped; only whole KRW is read.
This is a reference spelling and may not match a bank’s Korean-amount box rules. Commas are stripped before reading. 0 is 영원. Support is simplified through 경.
Example
123456789 converts to 일억이천삼백사십오만육천칠백팔십구원. 10000 is 일만원, 0 is 영원. 1 is 일원, 11 is 십일원. Add an 일금 prefix yourself after copying if you need it. 100000000 is 일억원, 2040 is 이천사십원. 1,000 with a comma still reads the digits only. 20400000 is 이천사십만원. 101 is 백일원.

Frequently asked questions
Are decimal points included in the Korean amount?
Only whole KRW is processed. The fractional part is not read. Jeon/ri fractional units are not supported.
Is the amount sent to a server?
No. The amount is not uploaded.
Does this match Korean amount text on a check?
It is a reference spelling and may differ from bank specifications. If even one character differs from the check form, follow the form.
How is 0 KRW shown?
It is displayed as 영원 (zero won).
What is the largest Korean amount unit?
Simple support goes through 경. Values beyond 경 may be truncated.
Are negative amounts converted?
The absolute integer is read and 원 is appended. Add a minus sign in front yourself if needed; the result does not include a negative sign.
