Key concepts
The QR code reader opens a string from a QR on a card, poster, or screen. Decoding loads jsQR from a CDN when needed and runs in the browser only. Images are not uploaded. Blurry or tiny photos can fail.
If there is no camera or permission is denied, use a file only. The camera is often blocked on non-HTTPS pages. A URL is not opened automatically—copy it and open it yourself, which is safer. If several QRs are in one image, only one may be caught.
Example
If a screenshot contains a QR, choose it as a file and check the result. Camera scan reads the video each frame and fills the string on success. A Wi-Fi password QR can show the setup string as-is, so be careful on a public PC. On-monitor QRs often recognize better from a screen capture than a photo. If you denied permission once, re-allow the camera in the site settings. If the string is a login URL, copy only on a shared PC and do not open it immediately. When retrying, reset first so old output is not mixed in. On a shared computer, clear the fields when you finish. Closing the tab drops the values; you do not need to send a delete request to a server. Button names match the tool at the top of the page. If the result is empty, check required fields and whether an error is hidden. This article is usage guidance, not a claim that input is stored externally.

What if an image has several QRs?
The library tends to catch one region, so only one may appear. Crop and upload again.
Does it open a recognized URL automatically?
It does not navigate automatically. Copy the result and check it yourself.
Does it read 1D barcodes too?
It is for QR codes. 1D barcodes differ from the barcode generator’s formats.
