Running Pace
Running Pace — runs in your browser. Inputs are not stored.
Running pace
Enter values, then press Calculate.
How to use
- Enter Distance (km) or pick 5K, 10K, half, or full from Distance preset. A preset fills the distance field.
- Enter the race Hours, Minutes, and Seconds. The default sample is 5 km in 25 minutes.
- Press Calculate to see pace per km (min:sec /km) and speed (km/h).
- Predicted finishes for 5K, 10K, half, and full at the same pace fill in below. Elevation and wind are not included.
- Walking and track laps use the same math if distance and time match.
Key concepts
The running pace calculator is for km pace, marathon estimates, and 5K pace. Pace = total time ÷ distance; speed = distance ÷ time in hours. Other distances are scaled at the same pace, so a real half or full may be slower as you tire. Elevation and late-race fade are not included.
Treadmill grade, course hills, and intervals are omitted. Times are shown rounded to the second. Calculation stays in the browser. Full-marathon estimates can be optimistic. Walking works with distance and time only. Presets 5K, 10K, half, and full fill distance; you still enter time. Walking uses the same formula.
Example
A 5 km in 25:00 is 5:00/km and 12.00 km/h. Predicted finishes: 5K 25:00, 10K 50:00, half about 1:45:29, full about 3:30:58. A 10K preset with 50 minutes yields the same pace. A 10 km in 1 hour is 6:00/km, 10 km/h, 5K estimate 30:00. The same pace on a full preset is about 4:13. A 3 km in 15 minutes is 5:00/km; the same-pace half estimate is about 1:45:29.

Frequently asked questions
Is running pace shown as min:sec /km?
Yes. The pace field is min:sec /km. Speed in km/h is shown as well.
Can I calculate pace for a 400 m track lap?
Enter distance 0.4 km and the lap time. 400 m = 0.4 km.
Are running times sent to a server?
No. Division is local only. Times are not stored or transmitted.
Is course elevation reflected in pace?
No. It assumes the same pace on flat ground. There is no hill adjustment.
Does the same calculator work for walking pace?
Yes, if you have distance and time. Walking uses the same division.
Why are half and full estimates faster than reality?
They assume you hold the same km pace to the end. Late fade is not included. Many runners cannot hold 5K pace for a full marathon, so the full estimate can be optimistic.
