Generate XML sitemap
Builds an XML sitemap in urlset format. Crawl and submit separately in Search Console or similar.
How to use
- Paste absolute URLs to index into URL list, one per line.
- Choose changefreq from none or always through never. The default is weekly.
- Enter priority as a 0.0–1.0 hint. The default is 0.8.
- Press Generate, review the sitemap.xml text, then Copy or Download.
- Crawl submission is separate in Search Console. Reset clears the list.
Key concepts
The XML sitemap generator builds a urlset address-list file. Image, news, and video sitemaps are not in this version. changefreq and priority are hints only and do not guarantee crawl speed. Mixing relative paths often fails validation, so prefer absolute URLs.
If you have thousands of addresses, split files or consider generating them on the server. Pairing with a Sitemap line in robots.txt makes the file easier to find. Generation runs only in the browser and is not auto-submitted to Google. lastmod is not entered per line on this screen.
Example
Paste three lines for home, about, and a post, generate with weekly and 0.8, and three url entries appear inside urlset. Put the downloaded XML on a public path and tell Search Console the location. Setting changefreq to none omits that tag. Absolute URLs only, without relative paths, fail validation less often. changefreq and priority do not guarantee crawl speed. Many URLs are easier to maintain as split files or a dynamic server sitemap. When you retry the same input, reset first. On a shared computer, clear the fields when you finish. Closing the tab discards what you pasted; you do not need a server delete request. Button names match the tool above. If the result is empty, check required fields and hidden errors. This page is usage help, not a claim that input is stored elsewhere. On mobile, Copy may ask for clipboard permission—allow it and tap again. Very large input can slow the browser, so paste only the slice you need.

Frequently asked questions
Does the XML sitemap support image or news formats too?
This version supports a basic urlset only.
Does changing changefreq make crawling faster?
It is only a hint. Speed is not guaranteed.
Is the sitemap auto-submitted to search engines?
No. Deploy the file, then submit it in Search Console or similar.
Can I enter relative paths only?
Absolute URLs are recommended. Relative paths often fail validation.
Is the default priority 0.8 required?
It is an optional hint. You can clear it or use another value.
What if I have a huge number of URLs?
The browser may struggle. Split files or generate on the server.
