How to use
- Enter a solar year and month. When you open the page, today’s year and month fill in if they fall in 1900–2100; otherwise the year is 2026.
- Press Find to collect days in that month whose daily heavenly stem is Mu (戊) or Gi (己).
- Check the target month, the count of son-less days, the criterion (stems Mu and Gi), and the date list (solar, Korean ganzhi, Chinese characters).
- Year must be 1900–2100 and month 1–12. Out of range shows a notice.
- Use it only as folk reference for moving or opening a business. For entertainment and reference; fortune-telling does not guarantee facts.
Key concepts
In folk belief, days whose daily heavenly stem is Mu or Gi are sometimes called days without Son (the moving “hand” spirit said to hinder moves and weddings). This tool lists Mu and Gi days in the month as solar dates using a daily-stem cycle based on 1899-12-22 as Gapja. Display is solar; there is no lunar date field.
It has no legal force and is not a required rule for real-estate contracts or moving days. Some regions or families treat the same day as a day with Son. For lunar dates, use the solar–lunar converter as well. Results are for entertainment and reference; fortune-telling does not guarantee facts. The list is read-only—you cannot edit dates there. Enter August 2026 and press Find to stack lines whose stem is Mu or Gi. Each line is a solar YYYY-MM-DD plus Korean and Chinese ganzhi. The count depends on month length and the stem cycle. Frequently asked questions
Are son-less days lunar dates?
The list is solar dates. Daily stems follow the 60-ganzhi cycle; there is no lunar field. Use the solar–lunar converter if you need lunar dates.
Why are Mu and Gi days called son-less days?
Folk custom treats Mu and Gi stem days as days when Son rests. It is not academic proof, and fortune-telling does not guarantee facts. Interpretations can differ by region.
Must I match them for moving or a business opening?
There is no legal duty. For entertainment and reference. Contract dates, remaining-payment dates, and elevator bookings come first; this list is folk reference.
Are leap months and solar terms included?
Only daily stems are used. Check leap months in the solar–lunar converter. Solar-term hours are not included.
What about years before 1900?
Only 1900–2100 are calculated. Month must be 1–12; out of range only shows a notice.
