How to use
- Enter monthly water use in Usage (㎥). The default is 15. 1 ㎥ is 1 ton.
- Copy water-supply unit price (KRW/㎥) from the bill. The default 830 KRW is a placeholder gauged for 2026 household use.
- Enter sewer unit price (KRW/㎥). The default is 550 KRW.
- Enter water-use surcharge (KRW/㎥) (물이용부담금). The default is 170 KRW. Use 0 in regions that do not charge it.
- Press Calculate to see water-supply, sewer, surcharge amounts, and the total. Meter-size basic charges are omitted.
Key concepts
A water bill usually adds water-supply usage, sewer usage, and a water-use surcharge in proportion to usage (㎥). This calculator multiplies each of the three unit prices by usage and adds them. Progressive brackets, basic charges by meter size (구경), and flat sewer fees differ by city, county, and district, so the result can disagree with the bill.
Household and business unit prices differ, and multi-child or welfare discounts follow local ordinances. This screen does not auto-load a Seoul standard table. It is a reference calculation where you copy KRW per ㎥ from a recent bill. The result approximates usage charges without the basic fee. If the bill splits supply, sewer, and surcharge on separate lines, copy each line’s KRW/㎥ into the fields. For a month with a blank unit price, use the previous bill but enter the new number if rates rose.
Example
Usage 15 ㎥, supply 830 KRW, sewer 550 KRW, surcharge 170 KRW → supply 12,450 KRW, sewer 8,250 KRW, surcharge 2,550 KRW, total 23,250 KRW. Raising usage only to 20 multiplies each item by 4/3 and the total becomes 31,000 KRW. In a region with no surcharge, change 170 to 0 and that field drops out of the total. If the bill has a 3,000 KRW meter basic charge, add it to 23,250 KRW and estimate 26,250 KRW. If only the supply unit price changes with a progressive bracket, edit the supply field and leave sewer and surcharge as they are.

Frequently asked questions
Is the water bill calculator Seoul’s standard tariff?
No. It is a reference calculator where you enter bill unit prices. Local ordinances come first. It does not auto-load Seoul or regional standard tables.
Are meter-size basic charges included?
No. Add meter-size basic charges and flat sewer fees yourself. The total adds only the three usage-proportional items.
Are progressive brackets split automatically?
No. It is usage × the unit price you entered. If brackets differ, enter an average unit price or add brackets separately. This screen accepts one unit price only.
Is the water-use surcharge required?
It depends on the region. Enter 0 if it is not on the bill.
Is 1 ㎥ the same as 1 ton?
On household bills, 1 ㎥ is usually treated as 1 ton based on water density.
Is usage sent to a server?
No. Multiplication runs only in the browser.
