Key concepts: monthly payment and installment interest
The monthly payment is what you pay the card or finance company each month. Total interest is close to the sum of interest (or fees) through maturity. A low monthly figure can still feel expensive once total interest is added. Even “0% interest” offers sometimes have a separate installment fee or promo terms—entering the disclosed fee rate is safer.
This tool uses a formula like equal principal-and-interest (amortizing) repayment. It can differ from a card company’s table or a 0% promo, so treat it as reference only. It does not guarantee a specific issuer’s fee table.
Example
Purchase 1,200,000 KRW, 12 months, annual rate 0 (0% interest): the monthly payment is close to principal ÷ 12. Put a rate on the same amount and compare 6, 12, and 24 months to see the trade-off between monthly burden and total interest. For a long-term loan schedule, use the loan interest calculator.

Frequently asked questions
How do I enter a 0% interest installment?
Enter 0 for the annual interest rate. It then calculates principal divided by the number of months.
Are issuer-specific fees included?
No specific card-company table is maintained. Enter the disclosed rate yourself.
How does the installment calculator differ from the loan interest calculator?
The formula is similar. Installment is tuned for short months and a purchase amount; home or credit loans fit the loan interest calculator better.
If I mix up total interest and monthly payment?
Monthly payment is what you pay each month; total interest is the extra cost above principal. If monthly burden is the concern, compare while increasing the number of months.
What about a prepayment fee?
This tool does not include it. For loan prepayment, see the prepayment fee calculator.
Should I enter a VAT-inclusive price?
Enter the actual billed amount. To split supply value and VAT, use the VAT calculator.
