※ Keep principal and interest separate. Monthly-deposit simple-interest approximation for reference; may differ from your contract.
How to use
- Enter the monthly deposit you will put in each month.
- Enter the savings term in months (for example 36 for 3 years).
- Enter the annual interest rate as the product’s posted or expected rate.
- Check the box if it is a tax-free savings account (otherwise interest income tax is applied).
- Press Calculate to see total principal, pre-tax interest, tax, and after-tax payout.
Key concepts: savings interest and maturity payout
Total principal is the sum of every monthly deposit, and pre-tax interest is the interest added on top. After-tax payout is close to what you receive after tax is taken from interest. Mixing “how much will I have at maturity” with “how much is the interest” often mismatches expectations. A rate that looks high can feel smaller once tax and the deposit period are included.
This calculator uses a monthly-deposit simple-interest approximation. Flexible savings, daily compounding, and bonus-rate conditions differ by product, so results are for reference and may differ from the contract. It does not guarantee any bank’s posted rate.
Example
Try 500,000 KRW per month, 36 months, 3.5% per year to see principal next to pre-tax and after-tax interest. Toggle the tax-free checkbox to compare the tax gap. You can also lower the monthly amount or lengthen the term to find a savings amount you can keep up. A lump-sum deposit fits the deposit interest calculator better.
