Annual leave days (Approximate, Labor Standards Act · for reference)

Enter values, then press Calculate.

How to use

  1. Enter years of service. The default example is 3 years. This is tenure after hire, not age.
  2. If you enter less than 1 year, annual-leave days are 0; monthly leave (1 day per month of perfect attendance) is only mentioned in the notes.
  3. Press Calculate to see annual-leave days, extra days, and the explanation text.
  4. From 1 full year, leave starts at 15 days, plus 1 day every 2 years, capped at 25 days.
  5. Reset restores 3 years. Fiscal-year grants and prorated leave follow company rules first.

Key concepts

This annual-leave calculator approximates Korean Labor Standards Act leave, tenure extras, and the 25-day cap. The table is 15 days after 1 full year, plus 1 day every 2 years, max 25. Extra days are the integer part of (years of service − 1) ÷ 2. At 3 years that is +1 day, 16 total. Searches like “15 days in year 1,” “16 days in year 3,” or “25 days for long service” match this tenure table. Use-it-or-lose-it promotion and unused-leave pay still need ordinary wage × days separately.

Monthly leave under 1 year, lump-sum fiscal-year grants, part-time proration, and leave-pay amounts (ordinary wage × days) are not included. Accrual dates, use-by dates, and promotion systems follow company rules, so do not treat this table as remaining leave. Results are for reference and may differ from the Labor Standards Act, work rules, and contracts.

Example

At 3 years of service: 16 days, +1 extra. At 1 full year: 15 days, +0. At 5 full years: 17 days, +2. At 11 years: +5 extra, 20 total. At 21 years extras are larger but the cap stays 25. Values under 1 year such as 0.8 show 0 days plus a monthly-leave note. Calculating with the on-screen default should match the 3-year example. Change the field and calculate again under the same rules. For actual filings, pay, and contracts, official rules and agreements take priority. These figures are for reference.

Frequently asked questions

What about annual leave under 1 year?

That is a separate monthly-leave rule (often 1 day per month of perfect attendance). This tool focuses on the table from 1 full year. For reference only.

Does a fiscal-year company leave plan work from tenure years alone?

Hire date and fiscal-year grant methods differ by company, so tenure years alone can be wrong. For reference only.

Is the maximum 25 days?

We use the Labor Standards Act approximate cap of 25. If work rules are more generous, the company rule wins. For reference only.

Does this calculator show unused-leave pay?

It calculates days only. Ordinary wage × days is separate. For reference only.

Is part-time leave the same?

Prorated grants may apply, so a simple table can differ. For reference only.

Is this a confirmed legal entitlement?

For reference only; it may differ from the Labor Standards Act, work rules, and contracts.
