Burnout self-check

Not a medical diagnosis. Original items; not a copy of MBI or other official scales.

Enter values, then press Calculate.

How to use

  1. Read the 8 items about recent feelings: not feeling rested, dread of going in, irritability, emptiness, work looping on days off, and similar sensations.
  2. On each item pick the closest of Never · Sometimes · Often · Almost every day.
  3. After all items, press Total. A blank item means no score is shown.
  4. Check the score (/ 24), band (low · moderate · high), and a short note.
  5. Retry clears selections. This is not a medical diagnosis.
  6. If it is hard to cope, use professional counseling such as 1577-0199 (Korea mental-health hotline). Do not submit the total as leave or workers’-comp evidence.

Key concepts: exhaustion total

Formal workplace burnout scales (for example MBI) have copyright and scoring rules. This page is an original 8-item set that does not copy those items. Never / sometimes / often / almost every day are 0–3 points; a sum of 8 or below is low, 16 or below is moderate, and above that is high. Items cover not feeling rested, commute weight, irritability, emptiness, work on days off, draining talk, broken focus, and feeling distant.

The total does not attach a disease or disability name. It cannot replace care or counseling and is not leave or workers’-comp evidence. If you cannot cope alone, use professional help such as 1577-0199. In an emergency, use local emergency or crisis response first. A high band is not a confirmed diagnosis.

Example

Marking all eight as “Sometimes” lands near a sum of 8, on the low–moderate border. Many “Often” answers can show high plus a note to consider counseling. “Never” only is near 0 and low. Leave one item blank and you only see a prompt to answer every item. High is not a burnout diagnosis, and low does not mean you never have hard days. Items such as work looping on days off and talk feeling only draining are part of the total.

Frequently asked questions

Is the burnout self-check a clinical diagnosis?

No. It is an original-item total, not a medical diagnosis. It does not attach a disease name.

Is it the same as MBI or OLBI?

No. Formal scales were not copied and there are no scoring norms. Do not compare with research or clinical scores.

If the result is high, should I take leave?

This screen does not decide leave. HR and medical counseling come first. Do not use a screenshot as a medical certificate.

Where do I call if it is hard to cope?

Use professional counseling such as Korea’s mental-health line 1577-0199. In a crisis, use emergency services. This total does not replace counseling.

Can the score change every day?

Self-report moves with that day’s condition. Use it as a trend; do not treat one high score as a label.

Are answers saved?

No. The score appears in this tab only after you press Total and is not sent to a server. Pressing Total several times still does not store a history of answers.
