How to use
- Choose quantity unit: g, don, or pure 24K g. 1 don is 3.75 g (Korean gold-weight unit).
- Enter weight in quantity. Default is 10.
- Under purity, choose 24K 100%, 18K 75%, or 14K 58.5%. The pure 24K g unit already treats the input as pure gold and does not multiply purity.
- Enter today’s reference price in spot (KRW/g). The default 150,000 KRW is a placeholder, not a live quote.

Key concepts
Gold value is usually pure-gold weight × price per gram. Jewelry 18K is 18/24 = 75% gold; 14K is 14/24 ≈ 58.5%, so the same weight converts to less pure gold. This tool multiplies your KRW/g spot by pure-gold equivalent grams. It does not fetch an exchange or jewelry-shop API.
When you buy in a shop, crafting fees and VAT are added; when you sell, a buy-back discount often leaves you below spot × weight. Don is a Korean gold-weight unit converted at 1 don = 3.75 g. Results approximate metal content and can differ from assay. Don multiplies alloy weight by 3.75 then applies purity; pure 24K g ignores the purity field. The default 150,000 KRW is a placeholder—always replace it with today’s quote. There is no live spot API.
Example
Unit g, quantity 10, purity 24K, spot 150,000 KRW → 10 g pure gold, about 1,500,000 KRW. Switch purity to 18K → 7.5 g, 1,125,000 KRW. Unit don, quantity 10 → 37.5 g; at 24K and 150,000 KRW the estimate is 5,625,000 KRW. 10 in pure 24K g is 10 g pure regardless of the purity picker. 14K 10 g is 5.85 g pure × 150,000 KRW = 877,500 KRW. If a ring adds a crafting fee per don, add that fee to approach the buy price.

Frequently asked questions
Does the gold calculator attach a live gold price?
No. Enter an exchange or jewelry-shop quote as KRW/g yourself. If you only have a per-don price, divide by 3.75 to get per-gram, then enter it.
Why is 18K gold 75%?
Taking 24K as 100%, 18/24 = 75%. 14K is set at 58.5%. Only three purities are listed, so ballpark other karats with the nearest value.
How many grams is 1 don?
This screen uses 1 don = 3.75 g. Choosing the don unit multiplies quantity by 3.75. The pure 24K g unit does not use don and already treats grams as pure gold.
Do I use pure 24K g together with the purity field?
Pure 24K g treats the entered quantity as already pure and does not multiply purity. Use g or don for alloy weight. Putting an 18K ring in the pure field overstates purity.
Does this match the jewelry-shop buy price?
No. Crafting fees, VAT, and buy-back discounts are omitted. Compare buy and sell quotes separately with this estimate.
Does the spot number go to a server?
No. Weight and spot are multiplied only in the browser. A pasted jewelry-shop quote does not leave this device.
