Sales margin rate (after fees and extras · for reference)

Enter values, then press Calculate.

How to use

  1. Enter Selling price (KRW). The default example is 30,000 KRW. If there is a coupon discount, a selling price closer to actual payment is better.
  2. Enter Cost / purchase price (KRW). The default is 15,000 KRW. This is wholesale or manufacturing cost.
  3. Enter Platform fee (%) at the rate on your settlement screen. The default 10.8% is a placeholder only, not a fixed Smart Store or Coupang value.
  4. Enter shipping/packaging (default 3,000 KRW) and ads/other (default 0 KRW) in KRW. You can fold 3PL or return costs into ads/other.
  5. Click Calculate to see fee amount, total cost, margin amount, and margin rate (versus selling price). Reset restores the example numbers.

Key concepts

A margin-rate calculator is searched when estimating Smart Store margin, Coupang fee margin rate, or open-market selling margin. Margin rate = (selling price − total cost) ÷ selling price, and total cost = purchase price + selling fee + shipping/packaging + ads/other. The fee is selling price × the % you entered. It matches searches that want to gauge Smart Store fee margin, Coupang selling margin rate, and net after shipping before settlement.

Smart Store, Coupang, and 11st fees differ by category and promotion, so enter the real rate yourself. This is a simple calculation that does not split VAT filing or mixed taxation. It is margin rate versus selling price, so the number differs from markup (%) versus cost. Results are for reference and can differ from settlement statements and contracts.

Example

Selling price 30,000 KRW, cost 15,000 KRW, fee 10.8%, shipping/packaging 3,000 KRW, ads 0 KRW → fee 3,240 KRW, total cost 21,240 KRW, margin 8,760 KRW, margin rate 29.2%. Add 2,000 KRW in ads/other → total cost 23,240 KRW, margin 6,760 KRW, margin rate 22.5%. Lower the fee only to 5% → fee 1,500 KRW, total cost 19,500 KRW, margin rate 35.0%. Clicking Calculate with the screen defaults should match the figures above. Change a field and click again and it recalculates with the same rules. Actual filing, payout, and contracts must follow notices and agreements first. These numbers are for reference.

Frequently asked questions

What is the margin calculator’s default 10.8%?

It is only an example default. Enter the fee from your sales-channel settlement screen. For reference.

Does Smart Store margin rate include VAT?

It is a simple calculation that does not split pre-tax and after-tax. VAT filing is separate. For reference.

What is the difference between margin and margin rate?

Margin is the leftover amount; margin rate is the ratio versus selling price. This screen shows both. For reference.

How do I put returns or 3PL costs into the margin rate?

Add them in the ads/other field or fold them into cost. For reference.

How do I see break-even selling price with the margin calculator?
