Salary raise (for reference)
Enter values, then press Calculate.
※ Simple pre-tax calculation. Take-home pay and taxes are separate. For reference.
How to use
- Enter annual salary before the raise (KRW) on a pre-tax basis. The default sample is 40 million KRW. You can exclude or include bonuses depending on how the contract defines annual pay.
- Enter raise rate (%). The default is 5%. Use a negative number for a cut.
- Press Calculate to see salary after the raise, annual increase, monthly equivalent after the raise, and monthly increase. Monthly equivalent is annual pay ÷ 12.
- Take-home pay and four major social insurances (Korea) changes are not on this screen. It is a simple pre-tax multiplication.
- Reset restores 40 million KRW and 5%. Company salary tables and grade allowances are not applied.
Key concepts
The salary raise calculator is used for raise rate, pre-tax annual increase, and a monthly equivalent. After = before × (1 + rate). Annual increase is the difference; monthly figures divide each by 12. It matches searches that want a 5% raise, a pre-tax monthly equivalent, or a pay-cut simulation before a negotiation.
If income tax and the four major social insurances change, the raise that hits your bank account can differ from the pre-tax %. For a monthly-pay contract, enter an annualized amount or read the monthly fields. If there is a separate grade or bonus table, enter the company’s announced % and look only at the pre-tax gap. Results are for reference and may differ from the employment contract or rules.
Example
40 million KRW before, 5% raise → 42 million after, 2 million annual increase, 3.5 million monthly equivalent, 166,667 KRW monthly increase. Change the rate to 3% → 41.2 million after. Enter −5 to drop to 38 million. 50 million at 5% → 52.5 million after, 4.375 million monthly. Pre-tax basis. Calculate with the on-screen defaults to match the figures above. Change a field and calculate again with the same rules. For real filings, payouts, and contracts, official notices and agreements take priority. These numbers are for reference.
